New Addition

Well, it looks like David and I will be adopting a dog from the American Brittany Rescue in the next few weeks. When we went to Baton Rouge for a wedding a few weeks ago we went in to the Orvis store so David could look around and there was a lady there holding 2 Brittanys that were up for a adoption. We (really more me) fell in love with one of the little guys and spoke with the representative about the adoption process. As it turns out the dog was found as a stray and tested positive for heart worms so he is undergoing treatment now. If we pass our home adoption stay he will be ours around late September. I really think Bailey will do a lot better if she has a new playmate.

Speaking of September, we are hoping that our house will be complete by the end of September or early October. They are 99% done with the brick and should start stucco this week. After that the outside will be complete and they will start installing cabinets and doing the trim work. Here are few recent pics of house and our new baby.

Fourth of July

What a great fourth we had this year! We started out by going out to the new house to check things out and of course David wanted to clean up and have it looking spick and span for the next crew. I'm not sure he understands that it will only get dirty again...but whatever. The house is starting to come along. They are supposed to be finished with the roof this week and start bricking and sheet rocking in the next week or so.

After the house, we went to meet some friends at the river. We had a place on a sandbar and just floated around, sun bathed, and ate way too much. The boys played horseshoes and cooked all kinds of pork tenderloin, hot dogs, sausage, boudain, etc. After soaking up the rays for about 6 hours we headed north to watch the fireworks which we amazing! There were a lot more people out on the river watching the fireworks than I remember from last year. All in all, it was a great day!
